TranslateNow Unveils WeChat’s First Enterprise Translation Platform
San Francisco Start-up Caters to China’s US$8 Billion Localization Industry
May 10, 2017 (Chengdu, China) – TranslateNow, a leader in enterprise translation management, announced today the launch of the world’s first translation platform to run on the popular WeChat messaging app. Users in China can now get professional human translations in 100+ languages without ever leaving their mobile device. TranslateNow is currently exhibiting it’s new platform at the Silicon Valley Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (SVIEF) in Chengdu, China at booth A25.
“The use of separate applications like email, Slack, Asana and Dropbox to meet business needs has not taken off in China as they have in the US, making WeChat the ‘one stop shop’ for all communication needs for its 880 million users,” says Matt Arney, CEO of TranslateNow. “Rather than create yet a another new app for users to download, we are delivering an innovative platform that allows companies to to manage every aspect of their translation projects entirely within the popular WeChat ecosystem.”
TranslateNow’s platform eliminates the need to email files to product managers and then wait hours for a response. Instead, users can upload a file and instantly get accurate word counts, pricing, schedules, invoices, make payments and deliveries in hundreds of language combinations all within WeChat. All files are analyzed for matches and leveraged against the world’s largest translation memory database. Words and segments that are found to repeat throughout a document are discounted, which can provide savings of up to 40%. TranslateNow’s friendly Chinese support team conveniently manages all communications entirely within WeChat.
“Email and the use of FTP sites and Excel are rapidly becoming extinct in China as users increasingly want to manage all transactions via their mobile devices,” says Terence He, Managing Director, China for TranslateNow. “As the only company to enable users to analyze files and book linguists in real time, we’re saving valuable time and reducing the overall costs for our clients.”
